Greetings. A lot can be said about walls, they can be a barrier to keep people in or out. A wall can also be a Spiritual barrier. Psalms_18:29 For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall. King David said the above verse about a wall, reading that verse for the first-time years ago I imagined this King David was quite an athlete. Now was this king speaking physical or mentally? The problem was I saw this verse only physically and carnally. Of course, King David had a lot of physical enemies, but our biggest enemy is also are closest familiar friend, ourselves. Psalm 41:9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted. In the new false confessing Christian it is his carnal mind and he does not know this. Romans 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. Your own wisdom cannot be your friend when it comes to understanding God’s word it's constant enemy. David biggest enemy was king Saul who sought for his life constantly and the man of sin in all us of constantly seeks to destroy any spiritual meaning we might to receive from God. 1 Samuel 18:29 And Saul was yet the more afraid of David; and Saul became David's enemy continually. Spiritually we are afraid to except the fact the Bible has a greater wisdom then we can spiritually discern: this fear becomes a barrier or wall, that separates us from God. When this fact is revealed to us from God the verses we thought were our own spiritual wealth will be destroyed. Proverbs 18:11 The rich man's wealth is his strong city, and as a high wall in his own conceit. We are all born with a spirit of error that seeks to rule over God words because of envy. Proverbs 25:28 He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city, that is broken down and without walls. The spirit of error or err in us does not know God, yet through conceit we think we do. Matthew 22:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
Our own understanding represents the world or this evil world wisdom about the Bible. 1 Corinthians 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew notGod, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. We cannot know God by men thoughts or preaching, it’s their own foolishness they are preaching. Any fool can get up and say, thou saith the lord, but if it is not by God’s Spirit it's only man's foolishness. Once you Spiritually see or discern men wisdom or preaching is foolishness: then you can believe and be saved. The above Bible verse is negatively saying the carnal mind of man cannot preach. It took me thirty-years to know the true Spiritual meaning of it and I never sought out the true meaning of it. My minds now goes back to the Bible to gather every word or sheep I have scattered. God’s wisdom about His word must be sought out because all of men’s preaching is in vain. Ecclesiastes 12:10 The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth. Our expounding must be acceptable words: that are saying the same things God is saying about a verse. The Spirit of truth is doing the preaching through men and men that are supposed to expound the truth. All the scriptures are parables and only Jesus can expound on the true meaning of them. Mark 4:34 But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples. It takes me about half a minute of listening to anybody and tell who’s doing the preaching. We get deceived by our own wisdom, which King David called a wall. Now we do not need twenty billion dollars to build this wall we were all born with it, sin. Isaiah 59:2But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. Iniquities is what’s coming out of our mouths concerning God’s word. God's Spirit tears down our wall! The more scriptures we could quote or memorize the more spiritually rich we thought we were becoming. I once could quote over two hundred parables or scriptures and was dumb or spiritually blind to their meaning. I had become a rich-man: I now know I had nothing Spiritually. Proverbs_18:11The rich man's wealth is his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit. We watch the physical rich debate over a physical wall and man has built a Spiritual wall that separates him from God. Isaiah 59:2But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
