Greeting. Mark 10:17  And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?  Good question, but let’s labor to have the Holy Ghost reveal the answer as to inherit eternal life. You cannot buy eternal life it has to be given to you, by gathering righteous fruit John 4:36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together. The Bible liken us to as trees and this is often seen by us mortals in things like making drawing of our family tree. Genesis 3:8 And they heard the voice of the Lord walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord amongst the trees of the garden.  Adam and Eve tried to appear as a tree of righteousness: Proverbs 11:30​ The fruit of righteous is a tree of life. But because Adam and Eve sinned they were cursed and dried up. Nothing could grow in them- no fruit, leaves only. Matthew 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits, Do men grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? When we make our own righteousness and wisdom about the Bible we are represented by a cursed tree. Matthew 21:19 And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever, And presently the fig tree withered away. ​Of course we cannot bear good fruit unless you are connected to the branch or vine. We do not become apart of the vine because we join a physical Church.  John 15:5  I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. Could there be a possible false vine? Is it man's carnal interpretation of God’s word? John15:1  I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. What will a false vine produce?  Deuteronomy 32:32 For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter.That was the sin of Sodom: bitter fruit. That physical city[Sodom] and we as people are often represented as a city in the Bible: Proverbs 18:1The rich man's wealth is his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit. 

 Ezekiel 16:49  Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. Sodom sin was also pride. Psalms 10:4  The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts. God cannot be in all of our thoughts when we think we know him based on our carnal mind thinking. What about the carnal mind thoughts. Romans 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. What about the fullness of bread? Proverbs 4:17  For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence. Man’s thoughts on God’s is not that the Spiritual bread from heaven. Proverbs 20:17  Bread of deceit is sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel. Our carnal thoughts about God’s word is sweet to us and this counsel take place in our mind. Psalms 55:14  We took sweet counsel together, and walked unto the house of God in company. The counsel is the sweet counsel of the carnal mind which is the spiritual enemy of God's words. Romans 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. Sodom was abundance with idleness, but of what kind? When you’re idle you refuse to labour. Ecclesiastes 2:20  Therefore I went about to cause my heart to despair of all the labour which I took under the sun. When  we labour for things under the sun we are not laboring for anything heavenly or above the sun. Men thoughts about the Bible are spiritually things under the sun. Ecclesiastes 8:17  Then I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labour to seek it out, yet he shall not find it; yea further; though a wise man think to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it. Man's bread from the carnal mind is death. John 6:58  This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.
