GREETINGS.Psalm 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.Psalm 23:2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. My grandmother taught me the 23rd psalm when I was a child and for years I said it every night before I went to bed. I had no idea of what I was saying nor could affirm any of it; yet I recall the night I stopped. 1 Timothy 1:7Desiring to be teachers of the Law; understanding neither what they, nor whereof they affirm. Now the Lord is a good shepherd so there must be an evil one. John10:11 Iam the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. Jesus is the good shepherd so who are His sheep? We that obey Him also His words are sheep. Mark 6:34 And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things. Isaiah 53:6All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. But we are only his sheep if we do not go astray. We go astray after our own ways or thoughts but God can bring us back to the fold. 1Peter 2:25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.Psalm 58:3 The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies. The minute you picked up a Bible and said you were born again based on your carnal interpretation you were estranged from the womb. 1Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.The seed is God word but the moment we put our thoughts on it, we have corrupted it. Luke 8:11Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Millions proclaim there are born again but by what seed? When I am not longer speaking God's word in my own mortal wisdom I am putting off corruption. 1 Corinthians 15:33For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. God’s sheep also represents His Holy word. Ezekiel 34:23 And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd. Sheep have to be feed with God’s words or spiritual milk. 1Peter 2:2As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby. New born sheep or Christians cannot discern the different between their thoughts and God’s thought when they read the Bible. Ezekiel 44:23 And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean. There must be a sincere desire to see the deep things of God or the Spiritual meat. Psalm 10:17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear.Hebrew 5:13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. God's word is a word of righteousness, when we put our thoughts on it without waiting on the Holy Spirit interpretation; we have just made His word sin or our thoughts. John 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. Jesus laid down His live for God's word, what he heard from the father that he spoke: God’s judgment.John 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.John 8:18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me. Our witness just means we believe our own thoughts about the Bible or God character. A sheep thoughts will lead him astray unless they hear the Good Shepherd voice. John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. For 20 years I attended and visited some of the biggest, well-known Churches in the United States. Pastors proclaiming, they understood the scriptures but speaking lies or men thoughts. Wolves in sheep clothing. Ezekiel 22:27 Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain. Thoughts arise in the carnal mind of men to scatter God’s flock or His word. Act 20:29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. This happens in the mind as well in the physical Churches. Matthew 7:15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Now how could a physical person inwardly be a ravening beast of any kind? Luke 11:39 And the Lord said unto him,Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup [We’re talk on the cup and platter with the Lord reveals more about it] and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness. The Pharisees represents the Church leaders of Jesus time. But Pharisees still exist in our mind: our own thoughts. Our thoughts about God’s words look clean to us, but to God unclean or wickedness. Psalm 5:9 For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue. To be God’s sheep, first God desires His truth put inwardly in the heart or mind. Psalm 51:6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. I have read a sheep is a very gentle beast and then the opposite could be a goat. Matthew 25:33And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.We never allowed God to reveal the beautiful things hidden in Psalm 23, yet I know His grace is sufficient for another time.MICHAEL RUDOLPH HODGE
