HOUSE

Our bodies are to be a spiritual house that God can dwell in, and the substance of this house will be His words. The word house is mentioned almost two thousand times in the Bible and God will give us the substance that our house will endure. Proverbs 24:3Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established. When a spiritual house is being built with our earthly wisdom and without spiritual understanding of God’s word it will not stand. Our spiritual house walls are breached because of the substance we used to build them: the substance were not God’s words. Physical mortar is a workable paste which hardens to bind building blocks such as stones, bricks, and concrete masonry units. Ezekiel 13:14So will I break down the wall that ye have daubed with untempered morter, and bring it down to the ground, so that the foundation thereof shall be discovered, and it shall fall, and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof: and ye shall know that I am the Lord. Often in our physical lives when everything seems to be going wrong, could it be because God is telling us to get our spiritual house in order? When God allow bad physical things to happen in our lives, we should stop and consider why, is God trying to get our attention? Matthew 7:24Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock. How we Spiritually hear is of the upmost important: because we want to hear things our way. When we hear the scriptures our way it is called: the works of the law and this requires no faith. The words in the Bible are God’s body and we are called to spiritually eat of them. Psalm 34:8 O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. When we spiritually hear and then taste we are trying to discern our bad thoughts from God’s good thoughts. Isaiah 55:8For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. We have all thoughts sin was going to the bars or sleeping around with anybody who would let you. Sin is our mortal thinking concerning God’s word and His character. Millions say God is good because of physical possessions they have in their life, and this is no indication that God being good to them: we can only say God is good when he is revealing himself to us through His words. This is the key to keys in spiritually understanding the Bible: to discern our carnal mind from God’s Spiritual mind. Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. Nobody gets the mind of Christ by just confessing at a physical altar, to obtain this mind we are called to suffer. If we can discern anything from God’s word, we will suffer to hear it and keep it: nobody is doing this. When we can hear what the Spirit is saying in a verse a true image of God can be formed in our minds. Galatians 3:2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? We are being asked a question in this verse, a question that we must not miss. When we hear a scripture, we are trying to Spiritually taste and discern the Spirit to form an image of God. Psalm 34:8 O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. When we cannot discern God’s voice in a verse, there is no way for us to know if God is good. The Lord’s supper has nothing to do with the physical eating of bread and wine, but how we spiritually partake of His word. When we are hearing the Bible in our own wisdom, we are partaking of the world’s wisdom, and this brings about a curse or spiritual death. Romans 7:13Was then that which is good made death unto me? But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. Everybody at first sees the Bible or commandment at first in their own wisdom and makes it sin. 1 Corinthians 15:46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. This first natural house must be destroyed by God because it was not built by faith. Proverbs 24:3Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established. Our bodies are bodies of sin which resides the old man of sin which mocks the things of God. Every time God makes His words known to us or reveals something Spiritual, He is crucifying the body of sin and at the same time He’s giving us a new body or house for Him to dwell in. Romans 6:6 knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. Millions will say they are crucified with Christ and if you ask them to explain it, they cannot. Only the Spiritual dead can explain something Spiritual: they are dead to the old wretched man way of discerning the scriptures. Romans 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? Here God asks a question of us, yet we already had the wrong answer: we would deliver ourselves. When we try to make ourselves righteous, we are taking God’s law without His Spirit: we are symbolized by a man cutting himself with stones [stones symbolize the law] and crying out how righteous we are. Mark 5:5And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. God’s words when we have an ear to hear spiritually will torment the devil in all of us. Mark 5:6 But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him, 7 and cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not. Nobody likes to be corrected and the Bible is a book of Spiritual correction, such correction torments the old man of sin in all of us. 1 John 4:18There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. When we fear correction from God’s word it’s because we do not love him, we do not want any God or anybody else judging us. What we really love is a god created in own image because we saw the Bible in our own wisdom. Psalm 19:9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
