Spiritual Leprosy: Part 2

Type your paragraph here.

Greetings. We do not hear much these days about the plague of leprosy. 2 Kings 5:1 Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, and honourable because by him the Lord had given deliverance unto Syria; he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper's. Leprosy: A chronic, curable infectious disease mainly causing skin lessons and nerve damage. The Bible uses physical things to try and show us the Spiritual. Leprosy is very rare in the United States; only about sixty-three cases are reported each year. What about Spiritual Leprosy? Only a priest had authority to pronounce you unclean or clean in ancient Israel. Leviticus 13:9 When the plague of Leprosy is in a man, then he shall be brought unto the priest. Now we have a great High priest for our times. Hebrews 4:14Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. What are we told to hold fast in the above verse our profession? Every word in the Bible is important, never rush through reading it! Our profession deals with our faith. Hebrews 10:23Let us hold fast profession of our faith without wavering;(for he is faithful that promised;). God's promise is His revealed word and we must learn to wait on it, until then every word or thought concerning the Bible coming out of our mouth is leprous. Spiritually we are all born leprous. Jude 1:23  and others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.   Leprosy is characterized by light-colored or red skin patches, this patches resemble spots. We might even be honourable, even as Naaman, the captain of the host of Syria. Spiritually we must be healed by a great high priest. Leviticus 13:15 And the priest shall see the raw flesh and pronounce him to be unclean: for the raw flesh is unclean: it is a leprosy. Now what’s coming out of our mouth is what makes us unclean, now if we refuse to accept such a statement obviously we are better than the Prophet Isaiah. Isaiah 6:5Then said I, woe is me! For I am undone because I a man of unclean lip, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of host. Still, Jesus had even more to say about our unclean things that come out our mouths or heart. Matthew 15:18But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart and defile the man. And what has man defiled with his vain words? God's word's  in the Bible is called the promise land, but spiritually millions despise it by willing adding their thoughts to it. Psalm 106:24 Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word. Leviticus 18:25And the land is defiled: therefore, I do visit the iniquity thereof upon her inhabitants. Now, Naaman had a problem, pride and so do all people born of a physical woman. 2 Kings 5:9So, Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of house of Elisha. If you had a chariot and horses back in the time of Elisha, you had physical wealth and power. We are all born with a certain amount of pride and its easer to detect pride in other people than in ourselves. David, the future King of Israel was accused of having pride by his brother.1 Samuel 17:28 And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spoke unto the men; and Eliab's anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why camest thou down hither? And with whom hast has left those sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the naughtiness if thing heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle. David had a few sheep in the wilderness, how many Spiritual sheeps do we possess? If God has not revealed any of His words to you, then you have no Spiritual sheep. We are all wolves devouring God's sheep or His word's every time we open our own vile mouths.  When Naaman arrived at the Prophet house: Elisha did not even bother to come down and greet him. 2 Kings 5:10  And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean. 11 But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the Lord his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper. Now most people want to be saved, but they want to do things on their own terms and conditions even as Naaman. 2 Kings 5: 12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So, he turned and went away in a rage. Naaman was enraged, but why? Psalm 2:1Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? When people imagine a vain thought about God’s word, only later to have to find out all our thoughts are vain. This enrages our carnal mind, which does not like to be corrected. Proverbs 3:11  My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction. The Bible is a Spiritual book of correction not some hand-book on ways to get material things and brag to your friends how blessed you are. 2 Timothy 3:16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. If you think the Bible is anything other than what’s mention in the above verse: you are cursed. When we refuse to Spiritually hear or perceive what God’s voice is saying about his word: we are cursed. Malachi 2:2 If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the Lord of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart. You cannot give glory unto God’s name, when it is your wisdom doing the interpretation. Naaman the Syrian needed wise counsel and so do we, when it comes to all Spiritual manners. 2 King 5:13   And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, my father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean? 14 Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean. 8/7/2018 /amended 5/5/2021/ 9/21/2022 Michael Rudolph Hodges
