Greetings. Everything in the Holy Bible is deep or hidden from the mind of mortal man. I must allow the Holy Ghost to put off my mortal thinking when I read it. 1 Corinthians 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. Every word, every verses is deep because they are God’s thoughts and not men. 1 Corinthians 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. The above verses speaks of a spiritual death to my corrupt mortal thinking. This victory is death: of the carnal mind or the mortal thinking of man concerning God's word. 1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.Romans 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. When we live after the flesh we are seeing the Bible in the eyes of flesh or the way a man sees it. Job 10:4 Hast thou eyes of flesh? or seest thou as man seeth? God has to open own spiritual eyes or eyes of understanding. Ephesians 1:18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints. Millions of Christian believe they are not walking after the flesh if they do not live a lewd live Lifestyle. We might live physically longer by doing away with bad unhealthy habits, but God is talking about how we handle his word. We walk after the flesh when we follow our own wisdom about the Bible. Without Spiritual understanding there is no enlightenment! We read the word only in darkness every time we pick up the Bible and God's Spirit is not correcting us. Job 3:4 Let that day be darkness; let not God regard it from above, neither let the light shine upon it. Men day is only darkness but he will boost of this little light of mine. God cannot regard your light because as the song goes:’’ This little light of mine’’. YOU NEED GOD’S LIGHT: Psalm 36:9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light. King Saul the first king of Israel, went into battle with his army, along with his son Jonathan against God’s enemies. Here you represent King Saul, when you pick up the Bible: the carnal mind or thought goes into battle against God’s thoughts. Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. Now Jonathan did something that displeased his father. 1 Samuel 14:24 And the men of Israel were distressed that day: for Saul had adjured the people, saying, Cursed be the man that eateth any food until evening. [When we are spiritually eating God’s reveal word, you are in God’s light which represents the word day, in the above verse.] that I may be avenged on mine enemies. So none of the people tasted any food, King Saul cursed his own people. We cursed God’s word when we put own thoughts on it, we make it sin. Romans 7:18 For I know that in me[ that is my flesh,] dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. 1 Samuel 14:25 And all they of the land came to a wood; and there was honey upon the ground. Millions of pastors even as King Saul lead their people spiritually into the woods: a wilderness, his own thoughts about the Bible. 2 Samuel 18:8 ... and the wood devoured more people that day than the sword devoured. The below verse tells us what the woods in the Bible represents: you are in a bad place. 1 Samuel 23:15 And David saw that Saul was come out to seek his life: and David was in the wilderness of Ziper in a wood. When you get to little honey, you’re entering into God’s thoughts, but you carnal mind represented by King Saul, stop you from partaking anything Spiritual from the God’s word. Psalm 119:103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! The reveal words of God are sweet. Songs of Solomon 4:11 Thy lips, O my spouse, drop as the honeycomb: honey and milk are under thy tongue; and the smell of thy garments is like the smell of Lebanon. King Saul was after his own glory, he was told to fight the Lord enemies. 1 Samuel 14:24 And the men of Israel were distressed that day: for Saul had adjured the people, saying, Cursed be the man that eateth any food until evening, that I may be avenged on mine enemies. So none of the people tasted any food. Today Pastors would adjured their people not eat any spiritually food until evening which represents his darkness or his thinking. When God's word is eaten in darkness it's man's glory or Saul's glory. 1 Samuel 14:26 And when the people were come into the wood, behold, the honey dropped; but no man put his hand to his mouth: for the people feared the oath. 1 Samuel 14:27 But Jonathan heard not when his father charged the people with the oath: wherefore he put forth the end of the rod that was in his hand, and dipped it in an honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes were enlightened. Jonathan who did not hear the oath, and with the end of a rod ate some honey, thus his eyes were enlightened. Numbers 14:8 If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey. The promise land is God’s revealed word, were the milk and honey is: not a physical place and it is hidden from the lost. 2 Corinthians 4:3But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost. The only person can stop you from getting there are your own thoughts. Psalm 106:24 Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word. The pleasant land represents God's word and we all despise it! But carnal man refuses to be enlighten so he refuses God’s word for his own honey or bitter thoughts. Proverbs 27:7The full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet. Michael Rudolph Hodges 1/4/2017 / amended 5/6/2021
