GOD'S REBUKE

Greetings.Proverbs 13:1A wise son heareth his father instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke. [1]Rebuke: To express sharp criticism [2] To criticize (someone) sharply. All of us have been rebuked or criticize at one time or another, sometime unfairly or for our own good: correction there is nothing good about us. Proverbs 1:23  Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.  A reproof is a synonym for rebuke, thus we must all be rebuked by the Lord to hear spiritual things, no rebuke or chasten destruction of the carnal mind: than no spiritual understanding of His word. Many will boost how much God’s loves all his children but cannot tell you anything spiritual. Revelation 3:19  As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. [We’ll examine the word: chasten, in another letter]  Let us ask the Holy Ghost to reveal what happens when God rebukes man or in this case the Prophet Job. A righteous rebuke come from Job’s fourth friend: Elihu: Job 33:32  If thou hast any thing to say, answer me: speak, for I desire to justify thee. Job 33:33 If not, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I shall teach thee wisdom. Now Job had enough wisdom to know his three other friends did not understand any of God’s wisdom. The next verse is Job telling his friends they had no answer to his problems. Job 12:2  No doubt but ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you. These other three friends represents our thought in our mind that are contrary to God’s mind and we have millions of these thoughts. The battle of Armageddon will be fought in the mind. [I will prove this at later a time by the Holy Scriptures] These thoughts must hold their peace even as Job tells his physical friends to shut up. Job 13:5 O that ye would altogether hold your peace! and it should be your wisdom. In the next verse, Elihu rebukes Job and his three wicked friends with God’s truth: Job 34:35 Job hath spoken without knowledge,[ No spiritual knowledge] and his words were without wisdom. Job 34:36My desire is that Job may be tried unto the end because of his answers for wicked men. Men will received millions of dollars in government grants to study why a certain bird fly south in the winter. Sometime a physical beast can hear God's voice but man can only hear his own voice or thoughts. Job 39:26 Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south?  One of the reason men or women will say rash things about God’s word without waiting on the Holy Spirit interpretation is no fear of God. Ecclesiastes 5:2  Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few. If were to meet some high government official we would be instructed on how to address them. But we ran spiritually to God's words and address it with no reverence or fear. Psalm 89:7 God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him. Man's fears his own thoughts about God's words and trusts them: he leans to his own understanding about the meaning of the Bible. Proverbs 3: 5-6Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy way acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Our own mind deceives us to believe we were born with some kind of spiritual knowledge. We are born with no spiritual knowledge what so ever. Job 31:5If I have walked with vanity, or if my foot hasted to deceit. We spiritually hasted to the Bible, read it and make it our vain thought and strut off. Isaiah 59:7Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths. The Old Testament Prophets were innocent because they never put their thoughts on God’s word or gave themselves fancy titles. Job 32:22  For I[Elihu]know not to give flattering titles; in so doing my maker would soon take me away.  The Prophet Job saw his error in the end of all his fleshly thinking as he waited for the God's light. Job 30:26  When I looked for good, then evil came unto me: and when I waited for light, therecame darkness.  Unless God gives us His Light, we change His light into darkness. Job 17:12They change the night into day: the light is short because of darkness.Psalm 36:9  For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light. God’s rebuke of Job is found in: Job 38:2Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?  Man’s wisdom or his knowledge only see darkness when he reads God’s word. Job acknowledge his sin: Job 42:3 Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.Still think we know everything spiritual?  Michael Rudolph Hodges 11/23/2016 /amended 5/5/2021
