​​​According to the Bible there are different meaning for uses of words.This teaching shall deal with the word salt. What type of of salt? Sea salt? A sea of salt? A sowing of salt as ancient cultures used to do to poison fruitful lands agriculture?Seeing a person being salty''flavoring meat to preserve it , perhaps? Some of these uses and more shall be explained herein. Genesis 14:3All these were joined together in the vale of Siddim, which is salt sea. Which is the first appearance, which refers to Salt Sea. Genesis 19:26 But his wife looked back behind, and she became a pillar of salt.Lot's wife punishment for stubbornness she longed for'' dainty meats'' or the pleasures of this life. 1 Samuel 15:23 And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry[ See the article '' ARE WE MORE RIGHTEOUS THAN JOB?] Proverbs 23:6Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats.An evil eye is merely an man or women who can't witness any spiritual understanding of God's word and can't believe there's any other interpretation other than what they can see.Jeremiah 23:18 For who hath stood in the counsel of the Lord,  and hath perceived and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it? We repeat no spiritual understanding of the Law or the words of God.Proverbs 3:7 Be not wise in thine owneyes: and depart from evil. Own eyes? The eyes of flesh! Job 10:4 Hast thou eyes of flesh? or seest thou as a man seeth?Leviticus 2:13And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt. This deals with seasoning a meat for an offering to God.[ See article on How We Labour ] Numbers 18:19is a covenant of salt for ever before the Lord unto thee and to thy seed with thee. Now let's get deep; Deuteronomy 29:23And that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and burning, that is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein.Here we witness the first usage of'' salt in the land'' or salt on the earth'' to symbolize barrenness,death, and or a place of no growth physically. Judges 9:45And Abimelech fought against the city all that day, and he took the city, and slew the people that was therein, and beat down the city, and sowed it with salt.You might be familiar with the idea of ''Seed Faith'' or the faith of a'' mustard seed'' doctrines or notions taught in some Churches. What is meant, therefore ,in the sowing of salt? The Ancient Rome Empire [306 B.C]. salted their enemy the ''Carthaginian's'' soil with salt even as ''Abimelech'' did this, making sure that a this city would never support life. This was a an age old practice of destroying the prospect of future agriculture. Like fruits ex: fruits of the spirit in a given area.2 king 2:21And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in there, and said , thus saith the Lord, I have healed these watars; and shall be from thence any more death of barren land. Ezekiel 47:11 But the miry places thereof and the marishes thereof shall not be healed; they shall be given to salt. Here we see two uses of the use of salt to heal a land ,water,people, and food for meat, and a salt used to destory.Luke 14:34Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour. wherewith sall it be seasoned?Peter in Mark 8:33 is being rebuked by Jesus,Why? Because he savourest the things of the carnal mind the thoughts of men. Mark 8:33 But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebukes Peter, saying, Get thee behind me,Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.Colossians 4:6 Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt. The Church of this day act as modern day Abimlech's destroying your city or temple, which is your mind, by then sowing troddenl [words] down salt. Word that have no spiritual life or a corrupted seed thats bloom in your mind death. Lot's wife was a lover of this world[man's thoughts] and was transformed into a pillars of salt.1 John 2:15Love not the world.neither the things that are in the world. Just like the pillars Abimelech destroyed in that city. She stood as a pillar a monument to man's thinking. A monument or image to be smote down into powder and destroyed. Daniel 2:34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were or clay, and brake them to pieces. Ezekiel 47:11 But the miry places thereof and the marishes thereof shall not be healed; they shall be given to salt. Salt can bring life and healing also death and destruction to the flesh; meaning carnal people and the earth as well and God formed us out of the dust or earth.         5/18/2016
