Greeting. As mortal creatures we are extremely proud and have no concept of what being humble is. Sometime on award shows we see the recipient saying how humble they are to have received the award, Yet if they were really humble they could have excepted the reward by UPS. Yet how can I say there are very few humble mortal creatures? Well actually I didn't say it, but the Bible did and only if you believe it's the word of God. Psalm 113:6 who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth! Because if we were humble, God could reveal the things in heaven or above the sun: His immortal words. When we are humble we also know we are least, as one Bible [Saul] character knew he was the least: at first. Judges 6:15 And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house. And we are least as King Saul knew he was, and how shall we save Israel: which here symbolized by God’s word in the above verse. When we are humble we will not make God’s words man’s wisdom, and save Israel or God’s words from the grievous spiritual beast inside all of us. Here Saint Paul tips us off concerning the state of man or his beast mind. Acts 20:29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Always bear in mind these Bible characters are written for our examples. 1 Corinthians 10:6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. The evil things we will lust after will be our own wisdom about the Bible. When we know we are least as King Saul, then God can reveal Himself unto us. King Saul did not stay humble for long: he symbolize all of us because we think we know more than God. Give a man a Bible that can read and right away he thinks he can interpret it. We becomes spiritual kings; thus we seek to rule over God’s word and are no longer little in our own eyes. 1 Samuel 15:17 And Samuel said, When thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the Lord anointed thee king over Israel? Who really wants to be little in the eyes of others or themselves? Sometime when we are waiting in a long line, when another gets behind us, we feel a little better and thinking at least I am in front of them. 1 Samuel 15:18 And the Lord sent thee on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed. The Amalekites symbolizes all our carnal thoughts against God's word: they are to be destroyed and consumed by the fire of God’s words. Our mortal thoughts against God’s word are sin and either we allow God to utterly destroy them, or God will destroy us. What man really fears is our thoughts that are contrary against God’s words, these thoughts we will obey because we fear them. 1 Samuel 15:24
And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice. Saul says in the above verse that he transgressed the commandment of the Lord. How do we transgress the commandment of the Lord? And of course, we would never do that because we are better than Saul. Psalm 5:10
Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee. When we are in our own counsels or wisdom about God’s words; we are transgressors and our thoughts against His words are many even multitudes. But if God grant us power to repent from our foolishness we can be forgiven. Psalm 32:1 A Psalm of David, Maschil.
Blessed is whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. We have thought that our transgressions were something physical. To the public we may have cleaned up our lewd behavior and look righteous to the public. Yet our thoughts are far away from God’s, and we are still counted as transgressors. Psalm 119:158I beheld the transgressors, and was grieved; because they kept not thy word. Transgressors do not keep God’s word, because they would have to give up their own thoughts. Matthew 15:3But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? Our traditions we be what we falsely believe. Mark 15:28And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors. We are the transgressors, whenever we add a thought on a verse or even a word: we put sin on Him who knew no sin.2 Corinthians 5:21For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. We have to give up our self-righteousness, which is not the righteousness of God. King Saul had his own self-righteousness by saving what looked good in his own eyes. 1Samuel 15:20 And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the Lord, and have gone the way which the Lord sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. We all have a wicked king that resides in all of us symbolized by the carnal mind and we refused to destroy him. 1 Samuel 15:32 Then said Samuel, Bring ye hither to me Agag the king of the Amalekites. And came unto him delicately. And Agag said, Surely the bitterness of death is past. That old man of sin speaks to our mind delicately or subtly. 1 Samuel 15:33And Samuel said, As thy sword hath made women childless, so shall thy mother be childless among women. And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces before the Lord in Gilgal. Our own man of sin as even Agag must be destroyed by the spiritual sword of God. Want to become great in the kingdom of God? Matthew 18:4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. thehumbleshallhear.com
